Back to Fostering
Well, we're fostering kittens again. We've obviously separated ourselves from the Humane Society, so we are now fostering for F.A.R.M. (Fallston Animal Rescue Movement). Our friends have started their own rescue, Luna's House, but they do not have kittens yet (and kittens are the only animals we can foster right now with the small townhouse and too many pets of our own). We started with 3 kittens, but two more were added in by another foster who was feeling a bit overwhelmed. This worked out fine b/c all 5 kittens were originally from the same litter anyway. So, here they are:
Above, screaming his little head off, is Vegas. Misty named him and says the name fits since Vegas is up all night, causing trouble by picking on all the other kitties.
This one I named Reeses (yes, like the candy). She's the only girl and was the first one to use the litterbox and figure out how to feed from the bottle (the kittens had been cared for by a mama cat until she abandoned them all at about 3.5 weeks old).
Here is stoic little Nestle (also my naming). He likes to bite the bottle and climb the couch as if it were a mountain.
This is the first of the other foster's kittens. She'd already named him Jinx, so we let him keep his name. The blue collar is to distinguish him from his twin (although we've now determined that Jinx is a boy and Reeses is the only girl, so we can tell them apart anyway).
Finally, we have teeny, tiny Utah. He's calm and was a little sick towards the end of last week. All the kittens were blocked, so they all got kitty enemas Friday night. Utah perked up after that, so we think he's going to be okay. The black ones are easy to tell apart right now. Utah is the smallest with a white chest; Nestle has no white on his chest (well, maybe a couple hairs), and Vegas is the bigger of the two with white chests.

I'm Speechless
Tasha is going to be 14 years old in a few weeks and has FINALLY started calming down a bit. Every so often, she even appears to get tired! So, we decided to have her try out for Pets on Wheels. This is a program that brings in dogs & cats to senior citizen homes, hospitals, and rehab centers. The testers pulled her tail, played with her ears, held her paws, etc. to make sure she wouldn't growl or snip at little kids that might do the same. She was a champ! Made her momma very proud and passed with flying colors. Now, we just have to find the right match for a locale.
