Cotton lost his foot

Cotton had his doctor check-up yesterday to see how the infection was in preparation for the leg amputation surgery on Thursday. Turns out his foot was pretty bad. Bad enough that they went ahead and took the foot off right there. He still has to come back for the real amputation (this cut only took off some of the extremely dead tissue that was falling off anyway). Poor guy. How can people be so stupid? If your pet is hurt, take it to the vet IMMEDIATELY!

This photo is him sleeping after a long dog hike. Well, our dogs hiked - he got carried in the backpack. And he loved it! Cotton adores attention and has been getting royally spoiled at our place (hope his next home likes sharing the bed).

Cotton

Well, we have a new visitor. This is Cotton. He is a 8-week-0ld SharPei/Pitbull mix. Due to negligence from a previous owner, he will have to have one of his hind legs amputated. So, he is recouping and getting medicated in preparation for that procedure. We have him for the weekend, maybe longer depending on how surgery goes.

We still have Peanut, the foster kitten with no tail. His eye is completely healed and he has gained enough weight that he is doing normal kitten things like running around, chasing/being chased by Sati, and playing with toys.

Foster puppy Midas, who went to a "real foster home" after his stay with us, has been adopted. He visited recently with his new owner that told us he is all set to start his swim therapy (if you recall, he had a broken leg).

Nap Time

Tasha really is foster mom extraordinaire! And Peanut (who we've recently discovered is a boy and not a girl) wants to be just like her.

Mason and Madison

These cuties belong to my aunt and uncle in Massachusetts. Maddie is the little one and Mason is the one getting taken down.

Bath Time

Peanut doesn't have really good control of her bowels yet, so she gets a bath about every other day. Luckily, she's decided that she kinda likes them. And, I hope you notice how wide-eyed she is (the "bad" eye that was swollen shut before has opened up).
